The 2021 Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation annual fundraising auction was held July 23 and July 24 on DLMS.ca as a farmgate timed online sale. The auction was a great success raising $65,147! Thank you to everyone who donated, purchased and bid to make this year a success. Over 170 people bid on and viewed the sale from Canada, the U.S. and around the world.

As usual the highlight of this year’s auction was Lot 1, a yearling heifer donated by the 2021 Friend of the Foundation, the Crowe Bros. of Gilbert Plains, Man. The heifer was sold by Dutch auction and raised $11,440. The winner of the heifer was selected by random draw via Facebook Live following the sale and the lucky winner was Pine Creek Simmentals of Alberta.

The Manitoba Simmental Association and Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation look forward to hosting next year’s auction as part of the Canadian Simmental Association Convention July 21-24, 2022, in Portage La Prairie, Man.
